Tuesday, March 2: Alzheimer's Association - Capital of Texas Chapter: Part IV – Care for the Caregiver: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Getting Support, Adjustment and grief, Caregiving Issues, Communicating with family and physicians:Free Educational Caregiver Series - during the months of February and March, The Alzheimer's Association will be holding free seminars for individuals who need guidance to take care of someone suffering from Alzheimer's or related dementia. Lead by Susanne Oliver, LCSW, these seminars provide complementary caregiver education on topics particular to caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. All sessions will be held at the Chapter office, 3429 Executive Center Drive, Suite 100, Austin, TX, 78731.

March 5-13: Texas Star Trail Ride: Join us as we ride The Original Texas Star Trail through Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Stonewall, Johnson City, Blanco, Fischer, Wimberley and Driftwood. Each year, about 300 people take part in the 107 mile ride. It's the experience of a lifetime, and one you will not forget. We cross 40 cattle guards through more than 20 hill country ranches, including LBJ Ranch-Ranch Road 1 of the State of Texas. Web: www.texasstartrail.com
Saturday, March 6: Johnson City Woman’s Civic Club 9th Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo Nightto benefit the Johnson City Library. Saturday, March 13: Kite Day:LBJ State Park in Stonewall, Texas. Children of all ages are invited to come make old-fashioned, 1900s kites. We will supply the materials and enthusiasm to help the kids let their creations soar. Kites from home also welcome. Some areas are accessible for the mobility impaired. Saturday, March 20: Grow It! Pick It! Eat It!:LBJ State Park in Stonewall, Texas. Bring a picnic lunch and learn how to grow fresh vegetables for enjoyment in the summer and fall. Join notable growers to learn the fundamentals of raising a productive vegetable garden. This hands-on experience will teach you various growing techniques used to produce bountiful vegetables in limited or large areas. Saturday, March 27: 3rd Annual LBJ100 Bicycle Ride - LBJ National Historical Park:Originating near Stonewall/Texas, at 09:00 AM; on-site registration (cash or check only) and packet pick-up will be at the registration tent on the LBJ air strip, beginning at 7:00 AM. Saturday, March 27: Texas Men's State Chili Cook-off & Bar-B-Q Championship:At the Blanco County Fairgrounds in Johnson City. This Texas tradition is fun for the whole family. 2010 is the seventh consecutive year that this event has come to the banks of the Pedernales River in Johnson City. Cooking begins Friday evening. On Saturday vendors will offer treats and treasures from throughout the Hill Country, while the cooking continues. Activities include cow chip shuffle board and 42 domino tournaments.
