Saturday, May 1: Kirchman Gallery Jewelry Trunk Show: Kirchman Gallery is hosting a Jewelry Trunk show featuring original designs by Cynthia Bloom and Peter & Bev Mangan. Sunday, May 2: Johnson City Family Picnic & Lion's Club "Roaring Lions" vs. Women's Civic Club "Lion Tamers" Softball Challenge: Join us at the JC City Park beginning at 11:30 am. Food, Fun and Games! A Softball Challenge between Johnson City Lion’s Club "Roaring Lions" and Johnson City Woman’s Civic Club "Lion Tamers" will be held at the Softball Field at the City Park starting at 1:30 pm. We will have BBQ ($10 for an adult plate and $5 for a child plate), a Home Run Hitters Challenge ($10 entry fee) with GREAT Prizes, and a Raffle for a brand new TV! (Raffle tickets $5 each or $25 for six). There will be lots of games and fun for the kids. Proceeds benefit Johnson City Community Education Foundation, providing JCISD graduates with scholarships for college and technical school opportunities. Saturday, May 8: JCVFD Annual Fish Fry and Raffle Fundraiser: Blanco County Fairgrounds from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. There will be plenty of food and free beer. There will also me many raffle items and both a live and silent auction. Support the local fire department by attending the fundraiser and bring lots of cash to fill the donation can! Saturdays, May 8 & 15: Guided Nature Walks: LBJ State Park in Stonewall, Texas. Enjoy and learn more about the great outdoors in the Texas Hill Country. See wildflowers, wildlife and an 1800s German log cabin house while walking the trails. Water and cameras are recommended. Accessible for the mobility, visually and hearing impaired.
