Saturday, October 3, 2009: 2nd Annual Texas Hill Country Lavender Festival: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This year, six Johnson City – Fredericksburg working lavender farms along 290 West will open their gates to the public during one of the most beautiful times of the year.
Help the farms celebrate the final harvest of the season as a magnificent display of natives grasses and lavender in bloom provide a delightful vista. Bring your camera! The weather is usually great (and we won’t even complain if it rains!). You will receive a warm welcome at each farm. Each will share lavender farming experiences and plans and will offer products made at their farms. Special events, music, workshops, demonstrations, crafts, food, plants for fall planting, and a variety of lavender and Hill Country products await you. Check individual farm websites for special activities and updates. Stay the evening when Blanco County locals put on a feast at the 10th Annual Wild Game Dinner in Johnson City.
There is no entrance fee to the farms.
