Annual Blanco County Youth Council Stock Show

Sponsored by the Blanco County Youth Council whose purpose is to promote agriculture and other activities of 4-H and FFA. These programs help prepare our youth to meet the challenges of childhood, adolescence and adulthood, through a coordinated, long-term, progressive series of educational experiences that enhance life skills and develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive competencies.

This annual show is in January from Thursday - Saturday

Thurs., Fri. & Saturday, January 24, 25 & 26: 75th Annual Blanco County Youth Council Stock Show: Blanco County Fairgrounds in Johnson City at the Blanco County Show Barn (for more information blanco.agrilife.org) *Contact (830) 868-7167

Wednesday, January 23: 3-5 p.m. All Shop Projects must be in place. These projects will be classified into divisions by the Shop Judge prior to judging at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Thursday, January 24:
8:00 a.m.
All judging projects begin arriving and checking in.
7:00 a.m. Gates Open
8:00 a.m. All animal projects begin arriving and checking in.
  Judging of Shop Projects
10:00 a.m. Exhibit Hall entries arrive
  All Poultry and Rabbits must be checked in/weighed in and in place
11:00 a.m. Steers, Hogs, Sheep and market Goats must be checked in/weighed in and in place in the Show Barn. These species will be weighed and classified upon arrival. Ear tags must be legible (either outer or inner tag).
11:30 a.m. Judging will begin
(Divisions will follow with no set time)
  Judging of Rabbits
  Judging of Poultry
  Judging of Market Steers
  Judging of Market Lambs
2:00 p.m. Exhibit Hall entries must be in place
3:00 p.m. Judging of Exhibit Hall entries
Friday, January 25:
8:00 a.m.
Judging will begin in the following order
(Divisions will follow with no set time)
Judging of Meat Goats
Judging of Little Britches Goat Show
Judging of Market Hogs
9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Exhibit Hall Silent Auction
5 p.m.
Exhibit Hall entries not in silent auction must be removed.
9 p.m.
ALL LIVESTOCK MUST BE REMOVED. (after disposition completion in office)
Saturday, January 26:
11:00 a.m.
Shop and Exhibit Hall Projects Silent Auction
Shop Project Silent Auction ends at the end of the Live Auction.
Judging of the Salsa Contest
Buyers Appreciation Luncheon in the Exhibit Hall
Hospitality Room Open for Sale Buyers ONLY until the end of the sale.
