Lavender Nights in Johnson City Texas

The Johnson City Chamber of Commerce & all the co-sponsors would like to invite you to participate in the 2009 7th Annual Fourth of July Spange Dangle Parade.

Here it is, the Eve of the Fourth of July, 2009 , the Day of Independence, which was won by our forefathers 233 years ago July 4th,  1776. For generations, We The People of the United States of America have had freedoms that no other country has ever been able to match. For generations, men and women of our United States have fought and died for our country so that their and our kids and kids, kids and kids, kids, kids would have a better way of life than what any country prior to the birth of our country could offer or still to this day offer and that is Freedom. Freedom to do, to voice, to practice our way of life which means , yes, we get to have Fireworks every Fourth of July to remind our selves that we have those freedoms that we so dearly hold to our hearts.

Join in the Celebration!!! The festivities begin at 1:00 pm with the washer pitching tournament getting underway. The beer booth will open at 1:00 pm and close at 11:00 pm. Then all the other vendor booths will officially open at 3:00 pm going on to the fireworks display at 9:30 pm. There will be kids and adult activities going on all day, so meet the challenge. There will be food and drink at very reasonable prices. This is not the big city with big city prices. Bring the kids, grandpa and grandma, mom & dad and your next door neighbor. Invite all your friends for a fun night out at the Spange Dangle Fourth of July Celebration.

The music venue starts at 3:00 pm on the outside pavilion. Scooter Pierce (Country/Western) will be performing from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Dean Strickland (Country/Western) 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Brian Burns (Song Writer/Storyteller) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Bobby Beal & The Bobby Beal Band (Rock/Blues/Praise) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and if the crowd loves them and wants to hear more then The Bobby Beal Band will  continue from the end of fireworks to 11:00pm .

The Spange Dangle Parade starts at City Hall on Pecan Street and makes a right going North on Main Street (356 Spur) to the River Road making a left and then a right into the back of the Blanco County Fairgrounds. Wow, that is 1.3 miles of space to grab a spot and cheer on the Parade. You can park yourself at the Blanco County Court House, the City Park, the Ball Park or any place in between to watch the Spange Dangle Parade. It will start at 7:00 pm and end at the Blanco County Fairgrounds in front of the Show Barn.

The 2009 Fourth of July Spange Dangle Fireworks Display Program will begin at 9:15 pm at the outside pavilion facing the rodeo arena. There will be a Color Guard Presentation of the Flag, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, Song ‘The Star Spangle Banner’ prior to Fireworks and then . . . . . fireworks to the music of many patriotic songs. God Bless America.

The 2009 Fourth of July Spange Dangle Event was sponsored by many businesses / organizations of the Blanco County and Johnson City area. Give them a hip hip hurray for without them the 2009 Spange Dangle Event would not have taken place. Here they are:
